In this case, Tesla is making waves in the market by affecting major industries — oil, autos, and energy. My thought was, how can I, someone who just started a minimum wage job, help someone like Elon Musk? The company focuses on producing electric vehicles and also looks at design and energy.
Investing in TSLA
First the bad — opinions vary wildly — I don’t think I’ve ever seen this wide of a gap on any company. So you tell me Bankrupt or into the stratosphere? Somewhere in between? I just posted a thread, «not a short», linking that second article. My perhaps somewhat biased perspective is much closer to that than the negative views out. Yesterday I read another quite biasex article about Tesla that really shows where the «shorts» are tes,a from — I could not quickly locate the link, but it was a deeply flawed comparison to a range of other car companies, GM, Ford, Ferrarri, and a couple of others

To The Naysayers & Worriers, I Say This

Yesterday I read another quite biasex article about Tesla that really shows where trsla «shorts» are coming from — I could not quickly locate the link, compsny it was a deeply flawed comparison to a range of other car companies, GM, Ford, Ferrarri, and a couple of others I’m an index fund guy rather than an individual stock buyer, but I want Tesla to do. There are plenty of solid reasons that they. You need to separate traders, which include both short and long, and long term investors.
Tesla stock is for the later. Actually all stock investment should have long term in mind but Tesla stock is particularly so. You can pretty much ignore everything you read on financial sites which are almost always written by traders. Major factors determining price are earnings and speculation. Right now it is speculation. A long term investor sold look for earnings. Now that I own, I maintain my desire to be a part of this company.
At least they’re trying to move the world forward unlike other car manufactures who seem happy with status quo. Elon is a unique guy and admittedly whaat news about his actions on last investor call was upsetting, but he’s got the world on his shoulders so he gets a pass from me.
It’s the «Golden Circle» for me, when you understand the WHY behind something, everything else falls in line. To me, THAT is the asset that far exceeds its cost.
A fine analogy is a recent item I ordered online. Presumably there are at least a few people who are willing to pay more than 20X the cost to get their stuff a few days faster. Their concept vehicles have little value without a fast charging network, so Volvo, or VW, or Jaguar. Elon has long indicated that he’s open to allowing other manufactures access to the network, but has never said he’d do it for free, or even cheaply.
It would be worth it for anyone who wants to offer a mass market EV. RadOne You’d miss companies like Amazon or Netflix if you were looking for earning a decade or two ago.
Long term investors look for the future not the current earning. The later is too easy and can be too wrong. Manufactures will be willing to pay MUCH more than the construction costs of a fast charging network to «have it now!!! Another factor that is hard to put a valuation on is having a CEO who’s more interested in saving the planet than he is in making short term profits.
If your horizon is long, TSLA is an excellent choice. I am in the Warren Buffet school of investing and have been successful. I generally don’t invest in companies that don’t have earnings.
When they prove themselves, there will be plenty of time to get in. RadOne Warren Buffet only invest for long term too although he does not invest in technology companies. He admits he does not invest in technology companies because he does not understand technology. That helped him to avoid the dot com melt down but very much restricted his performance, which lagged SP not to mention NASDAQ, in the last decade. Only recently he started to invest in IBM when it no longer was an innovative and growth company.
That has proven to be a minor disaster for his investment. He’s now starting to buy in Apple which I kind of think will have the same fate. A tech company stopped innovate and taking risks and starts to pay good dividends to boast stock price will not be a good high growth tech company much longer. If Peter Lynch, another investor with long term investment strategy I admire, were still investing I’m pretty sure he would have been loaded with Amazon, Google, Netflix and likely Tesla.
He’s always there seeking his «10 baggers» instead of getting good dividends. I agree with it. Perhaps not the most professional but by god those people deserved it.
I’m not even an armchair investor, but i’m wondering if the current maneuvering with delaying Model 3 deliveries to game the Tax Rebate tfsla have a down to up effect on the Stock. I’m sure it depress the Iinvesting and inflate the Q3 earnings as it’s basically differing revenue from those deliveries? Is this going to make the stocks wjat a dive after Q2 earning call, only to let them post bigger numbers in Q3 for a nice boost?
There are certainly different strategies of investing. Depends on your risk profile as. The Oracle of Omaha has done pretty well for himself and his investors.
However, Musk is clearly not making any profits because he tes,a reinjecting all his liquidity to make the production ramp. I think the company will be profitable by the end of this year, and expect incredible growth long term. I will be getting 2-Powerwall-2’s installed to complement our I strongly believe in its mission «to accelerate the World’s transition to sustainable energy». I am waiting for my M3, bought Tesla stock, when delivered will install solar panels and power pack.
Will be paying Tesla till I depart this world and I am contented that I did something good for our planet. The last I checked you would have made x and x profit respectively if you invested in those companies in the early days. At a time when they were spending all money they got to grow and not making a cent of profit. Tesla-David I have been following Peter Lynch’s teaching. He’s been good at investing in fast growing companies. Invesging fund was doing significantly better than Buffet’s in the overlapping years.
He said do your homework to find the good company with good product and hold stock for the long term. Unlike Buffet he’s never concerned of the current «value».
He also said you don’t need to be successful in every stock you invest. You only need to find a few that gives you 10x or better growth. The trick is just how to find those companies. I was luck that, among many companies, I did find Netflix in the early days and Tesla in early 13′.
My Invexting stock is already a 10 bagger and Ih expect it to go another 10x in ten or so years. Nothing there can stop Elon from taking the company that high.
I started in March of and bought 50 of Tesla and 50 Solar City. I sold and re-purchased the shares on couple of times and seemed to time the ups and downs perfectly. I sold my Solar City shares just before they dropped and had Tsla shares in that I paid a piece for them as that seemed to be the support level. I had some Tsla puts briefly when they were supposed to raise capital again however they expired worthless. I made the mistake and sold the shares I purchased at in December — hoping to buy them back lower however the stock went crazy after that and went to and then well over I finally was forced to buy back my shares at as this seemed to be the support level.
I recently added another when then shares went to briefly. If you can get them for less than buy and hold. Once Elon gets the model 3 issues sorted out the shares are going to and may be 10X that much in 10 years. I read all the negative articles on ‘seeking alpha’ and I just read one this morning that said that institutional investors are increasing their stake while retail investors are reducing.
Go with the smart money! In incesting long term Tesla stock is probably a rocket ship. We should all hope so, shareholders, owners, or not. In the short term it is noteworthy that Morgan Stanley analyst Adam Jonas, who has been pro Tesla us a long time, and as best I know had the what company is tesla investing in prediction for how many Model 3’s were produced by end ofis slightly bearish on the stock for the moment.
He didn’t indicate his average cost to own 1. His investment style is a bit like Peter Lynch which is find good growth companies and hold stock for long term. Radone: «When they prove themselves, there will be plenty of time to get in. It isn’t a traditional stock so if you’re a stock person, don’t count on your traditional methods to have any viability. My brother coaxed me into buying 2 options. I hate that they expire in Jan He’s been saying it will pop for 2 years now, he’s lost most of his investments playing the options game.
We were deep at strike price. If it’s going to pop a little, I think we’ll see comapny this year, so I’ll hang on for the Q3 profit promise. That was invesfing profit tactic. I also think he’s on track for 5, units goal. Throw investong P3D sales in the mix, how can he miss? Just don’t expect much more because he’s long too, until money starts coming out our ears. I’m going to say «I told you» just not .
